[Elecraft] S-Meter Calibration

Hi gang,
This might be a tough question to answer - mostly because I'm sure I'll
trouble phrasing it---but I'll try.
The S-Meter on my K2 (s/n 1103) seems to not be very sensitive. When I
receive, what I perceive to be very strong signals, I am only getting about
two or three of the LED's lit. I've calibrated the SLO and SHI (I think
that is the setting on the menu) several times yet I'm still getting the
same results.
Perhaps I am not setting some of the other setting properly...the only
thing that I am doing is making sure the RF gain is full clockwise. Should
I also be concerned with some of the other setting (I usually don't have the
"atten" on) - how about the AGC, does that have any effect?
This isn't effecting the receivers ability to receive, just the s-meter
reading.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tom McCulloch
