Thanks for the advise, Tom. =20
I got up last night and re-read some of the manual and the alignment =
procedures and your post confirms my thoughts.
I'm going to re-work the filter/bfo values this weekend then try =
Spectrogram after all is where it should be.
The great part of building the radio is you're not afraid to tweek and =
twiddle. You know you you can recover.

A jump of this level almost always implies that one (or more) of the =
filter=20
settings are on the opposite side of the filter center. Recheck your =
filter=20
BFO values and reset as required. For any particular sideband ("Normal" =
or=20
"Reversed"), the BFO values should be either above or below filter =
center,=20
but they should not change sides within a sideband choice.

Spectrogram will help you to get the set, but it still won't tell you=20
whether they're set to the proper side. That you must determine yourself =
by=20
first locating filter center and then ensuring that you've moved the BFO =
to=20
the proper side of center before you use Gram to set things dead-on.
