Using the 15 pin 'VGA' ttype connector sounds like a good enhancement to me.
There are many times I have wished for an easy way to make easy connections
from the inside of the K2 to the outside world.
Yes, the KIO2 board would have to be reworked, but it may be possible to
squeeze the components to allow the space.  The mechanical mounting may
prove to be the biggest stumbling block since the present KIO2 board uses
the connector pins for its mounting.
