I'm afraid that the physical size of the connector was decided when
the first K2 enclosures were built. In hindsight, a DA-15 ('joystick')
connetcor would have been a better choice.

Given the size restriction of a DE-hole, a DE-15 ('VGA') connector
would have been a fine choice too: no need to make the hole
larger and a DE-15 is uncommon except for VGA.
Unfortunately, the KIO2 PCB construction makes a DE-15 connector
difficult as the PCB is jammed in between the connector pins.

If Elecraft would come out with a revised KIO2 PCB that would work
with DE-15, I'd instantly buy one. Replacing the connector on
the KPA100 (which is external) is a lot easier.
