Dennis,

I would recommend that one add the increased gain mod authored by John
Grebenkemper KI6WX instead.  It takes a few more parts, but it puts the
increased gain in the correct place.  You can download the .pdf file by
right clicking  this link:
http://home.pacbell.net/johngreb/modifications_to_the_ksb2.pdf  and chosing
"save target as".

Increasing the value of R14 can give you a bit more gain, but that increased
gain also will increase the level into the balanced modulator and increases
the risk of overdriving it.
