Fernando,
I would suggest that you will have better luck receiving voice if you keep
the lower frequency corner of the passband near 300 Hz rather than 500 Hz.
Center between 300 and 2300 markers (or 300 and 2200 if the bandpass is
actually 1.9 KHz wide. You are simply running out of BFO range when you
attempt to shift the recovered audio to higher than normal frequencies.

The BFO setting determines the sideband that you will listen to - the range
around 200 to 230 is usual for USB and the range around 150 to 180 is usual
for LSB, mine are set at 173 (LSB) and 220 (USB) for use with my OP1 with
the 2.2 kHz bandwidth mod.

L34 will not change this relationship - I suggest you re-adjust it with your
narrowest filter while listening to the 7000 kHz birdie (no antenna
connected) in CW mode.

Speaking of that, if you did the mod for a 2.5 kHz range, you will be close
to running out of range for the USB settings. With the 2.5 kHz mod, you
would set the markers at 300 and 2800 Hz and center the passband between
them.

You might determine from those relative numbers that there is a lot more
excess range for LSB (more than 150 counts) than there is for USB (about 20
to 30 counts).
