I'm located 100 miles from VE and didn't work any either.  In fact I  
don't think I worked any stations between 50 and 1500 miles distant. At  
times it seemed that there was a pipeline to Texas.  For a change, I  
didn't work any JA stations!  Best DX from Washington state with my K2  
and vertical were LU and CX. At the end of the contest, I only heard  
locals plus one LU station.  Strange propagation indeed!
