When you put the K2 in ALC metering do you light any of the bargraph
led's, You should light up several by talking loud and close,  if not
your Heil mic may be poorly assembled.  Mine was.  They just put the
electret element in a wad of foam without orienting it toward the tiny
hole.  I put a slit in the foam for the wires to exit and positioned
the element over the hole. it worked fine after that.  If I had it to
do over again I would get an electret element from Radio Shack for
$2.49 and put it a old cb mike housing.  I'll bet it will work just as
well. =20
