I've used a number a logging programs with my K2, both DOS and Windows. The
easiest way is to use a program that has a paddle input, so that way you
just plug the keying output into the K2 and set the input to "Hand". I have
set it up with the diodes as shown in the manual, but for some reason it
didn't always work first time. Sometimes just going into the menu and
enabling/disabling/enabling the Auto Detect function would make it work.
Not sure why.
Otherwise, it keys just fine with the generic single transistor interface
that most programs recommend, either from serial or parallel ports.

Subject: [Elecraft] Automated CW -K2
Hi - well my computer went south so while I'm figuring out what to do as far
as replacing it, repairing it or some sort of hybrid of both, I was
wondering if anyone is sending CW automatically with their K2. If so, is
their anything I should know about connecting the rig to the PC, I have
several software packages, mostly loggers and contest software that will
send, but I've never tried it. I do have the KIO2, which is doing a FB
job.
Thanks
