Hi Steve,
You can add insulation to any of the KXB30 module's wires, and in fact adding
insulation to the "B" hole wire is on my list of KXB30 manual updates. Yes,
using insulation actually turns out to be more difficult for the short wires--at
least that's the conclusion I came to when installing the very first unit.
The reason the KXB30 installation requires discrete wires is that there just
wasn't room for connectors. In fact the original use for the space occupied by
this module was for a thin mylar speaker. The speakers we tested had such poor
efficiency that we decided to add 30 meters instead. I was initially worried
that such a module would not fit, and that we'd have to go all surface-mount
with it (pre-installed SMDs, of course). But as you can see, it does *just* fit.
Other suggestions for improving the manual are welcome.
