[Elecraft] K2 audio output for digital modes

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to get a fixed audio output to the microphone 
connector
to connect my PSK and RTTY soundcard interface (it has isolation 
transformers).

I would like to get some audio to the connector even if the AF gain is 
tuned way down, and I still
like to have the headphone connector working.

I found 2 possibilities on the reflector and just want to run it by 
people who tried it.

option 1)   get audio from  VOL 2 terminal of R3 on the Front Panel  board

option 2)  use a tap-off point on the KAF2 board  (which I don't have 
but might consider
                 if it has such a point)

option3) ?????
