Funny thing is that I am very regressive in this area. I always scrape
the enamel off with a small knife and never pre-tin before installing.
But I do inspect the leads under a magnifier and test resistance after
installation -- always (I am a VERY slow and careful builder, and likely
hold the record for "slowness").
But my toroids always look pretty and work :-)
BTW -- I heartily endorse MM's service. I used his toroids in building
my KAT100 and they were outstanding! And wrapping the big wires in the
KAT100 toroids is hard on my arthritic fingers! I found that out when
doing the KPA100.
