I agree with this! We tried using these in coast station SSB marine service and they
are troublesome antennas, very inefficient.

| the B&W folded dipole achieves the wide bandwidth through a lossy termination. The
radiation efficiency is about 30% max at 40 meters and above. I have analyzed this
antenna and designed a monopole version of it (see AntenneX magazine 2 years ago).
The Alpha Delta appears to be a number of parallel dipoles. While these don't provide
a great match, an antenna tuner is part of the installation and will make it work
well. The Alpha Delta should be roughly 4-6 dB above the B&W.
