re: my KX-1 question...pin 7 on U4...

It helps when one counts the pins correctly.  I've been away from
electronics for about 10 years and I was counting them this way:


1 U 5
2   6
3   7
4   8

when they should be counted:

1 U 8
2   7
3   6
4   5


No wonder! :-)  Pin 7 is open and pin 6 shows 8.7 K.

Sorry to use up bandwidth on this non-question, but perhaps it'll save
someone else from making a bone-headed post like I did! :-)
