George,
I just purchased a RigRunner 4008 direct from West Mountain Radio priced at
79.95. It has 8 DC ports.
I looked at the Power Panel 8, and see that it is rated for 30 Amps vs.
RigRunner at 40 Amps.
The RigRunner provides indication of undervoltage, normal and overvoltage -
absent on the Power Panel. The RigRunner has an indicator for each fuse
(lights if fuse is open) - I did not see anything comparable on the Power
Panel. The RigRunner arrances the connectors in a straight line as opposed
to the Power Panels two rows - plugging and unplugging connectors may be
easier with the straight line arrangement, depends on your station layout.
Pricewise, the Power Panel 8 is priced at $34.95 plus an enclosure for
$14.95 - total of $49.90.
or you can buy the assembled version for $59.95. For my part, the extra $20
(assembled) or $30 difference for the kit version is not enough to make me
dissapointed on my RigRunner purchase. YMMV.

| Was planning to purchase a RIGrunner for the shack. While browsing the
| internet to compare prices, I ran across the Power Panel 8 by Saratoga
| amateur products. It also uses Anderson Power Poles and is offered either
as
| a kit or assembled. Each power point is fused and filtered. Only place I
| found it was HamStop.com.
|
| Was wondering if anyone had any experience with this product, and how it
| compares to the RIGrunner?
