[Elecraft] OT Airport restrictions

Hi Folks,

Basically, antenna height is determined and governed by
a) the FAA regulations
http://www.risingup.com/fars/info/part77-13-FAR.shtml and
http://www.risingup.com/fars/info/part77-15-FAR.shtml

and b) local city ordinances can impose additional restrictions for their
local airports.

The Airspace around a "Controlled" airport (definition is also in the FAA
FAR's) looks like an upside down wedding cake.
There can also be special low-level flight paths defined for military flight
training.

There can be additional regulations if you are proposing to be under the
flight path (approach, take-off, or any part of the traffic pattern)

Best I can do, as you did not specify the nature of the airport.

Good Luck!!

Do *not* be like the gentleman leaving near the old London (UK) airport who,
having had enough of having his TV antenna destroyed by commercial aircraft
on final approach, used a large catapult to hurl custard puddings at the
aircraft. He was taken to court for actually hitting one !!! The law took a
dim view of his actions
