  The way to do it with some degree of accuracy is to do just like in the 
manual with an accurate counter. I was able to pick up on ebay a 10mhz oscillator 
that I use to cal the my counter. I have my K2 working real well. At this 
point is within 10 Hz. If I tried harder I could probably get closer, but why 
bother most stations I hear are never on the same frequency. If you don't have 
the test equipment just close your eyes and tune the other guy in. We all tend 
to become rockbound. Things get much worse in the microwave bands there your 
happy if the other guy Is under 1000 Hz.  Anyway just enjoy the radio getting 
frustrated takes the fun away.
