ZK1/S, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS. "Team Vertical" is on the DX trail again. This
time they are headed to Rarotonga, South Cook Islands (OC-013), and will
be active between August 18-27th. Operators will be: Bill/K6KM (ZK1TOO),
Mark/AG9A (ZK1KAT), Ralph/K9ZO (ZK1ZOO) and Kenny/K2KW (ZK1TTT). Activity
is limited to 40-10 meters on CW/SSB. Two stations will be active when
snorkeling permits, using 2 x Elecraft K2/100, and Force 12 vertical
antennas on the beach. The station is on the northeast side of the
island,
with water paths to all the major population centers. The team will make
extra efforts to work Europeans, since ZK1/s is a difficult path for
them.
QSL all ops via Kappy, WA4WTG.
