Also, Edward, get your end-fed long wire going properly before worrying
about a dipole. Ultimately a dipole is a wonderful antenna, but to do it
properly for multiband use requires a properly balanced antenna tuner
(transmatch) and open-wire feed. This is all very doable -- but its going
to be much easier for you to make a proper end-fed wire out of your current
situation than giving up and trying something new.
