Let's look at the BPL issue from an even more fundament viewpoint. The utility companies aren't capable of keeping their outdated grids up and running as was proven on Friday. It's already been reported that the Internet and a large percentage of cell phones continued to function in spite of the NE blackout. Sending the FCC a simple message to that affect I would hope to be sufficient in putting BPL to rest, permanently. 
 
I do hope that all Elecrafters have already sent or will send the FCC their comments. This BPL issue isn't something to take lightly.
