[Elecraft] BPL

David,

The K1/K2 are no more susceptable than any other receiver - but we are
concerned about the effect of BPL/PLT on amateur radio in general.

If the average noise level on a band goes up, more weak signals fall into
the noise level.
Receivers with the capability of detecting weak signals (like the K1/K2)
will still be around, but there will be fewer signals sticking their heads
above the noise.

Fewer signals = less operating = fewer transceivers (for any manufacturer)
sold!!!

| All the discussion about BPL on here seems to imply that the K1/K2 are
| perhaps more susceptible to BPL that other rigs. Is this so? And if
| so, is there anything that can be done to improve the design?
|
| There is an abundance of information on the Internet about BPL (or PLT
| as we call it in the UK) and its encroachment to this list is worrying.
