Ryan -
I'd suggest that you are spending your money wisely; will have a ball
building it; and be incredibly proud the first time you have a QSO with it.
I've built most all of the Elecraft kits and I barely know anything more
than how to solder - and I learned how to solder from building Elecraft
kits! Go for it!!
