In my opinion, all of the 'hooks' should be included in the basic kit.
Installation of an optional module would then consist only of cutting
jumpers and plugging in the module.
I would prefer this to a separate kit of parts, because it would permit
the installation of the extra parts to be integrated into the basic
instruction manual. When I built my K2 I add the parts for the SSB
adapter and several other modules during construction, but I had to jump
back and forth between the manuals, which increases the likelihood of error.
As you say the cost of the extra parts is small, and the change might
even reduce Elecraft's technical support costs.
