Hit display so DSP BYP shows in menu; then hit BAND+  -- and you are 
reactivated.

Do you have the SSB option?  If so, when on the OPT1 filter, you may get S 
meter behavior like this.  Check to see if it happens with the other 
filters as well.  If not, there is a mod that can mitigate this effect.  If 
you don't have the SSB option, I'm not sure what's happening.
