[Elecraft] Capacitor Lead Lengths - Always Critical?

I've started to install the capacitors on the RF
board. Installing some of the small blue NPO
capacitors (e.g., C154 and C144), it's not really
possible to get them installed flush with the PC
board, because the distance between the PC board
holes is quite a bit greater than the distance
between the component leads.
Bending the leads a bit to form small "elbows" in
them to match up with the holes in the PC board
leaves the body of the capacitors about 3/16"
above the surface of the board. Is this OK, or
will it result in some kind of undesired circuit
coupling? (Unlike the instructions to install
some other capacitors, there's no special
cautionary note about the "bulk" installation of
capacitors I'm doing now, per the second
instruction on page 49 of the manual.)
If it's not OK, any suggestions as to how to get
these kinds of components flush mounted without
damaging them?
Thanks kindly,
Paul
