Hey guys,
I would like to share a dummy load design i constructed during the =
alignment of my K2
It is very inexpensive and most importantly - all parts are available at =
your local Radio Shack store.
I used an "UHF T-connector" and 20 x 1 KOhm carbon resistors (1/2W) in =
parallel.
The actual resistance is 49.6 Ohm (The high number of resistors helps to =
get very accurate total value). The SWR according to my Diamond SX200C =
is 1.0:1
Total cost is less than $10. Takes about 30 min to build.
The designed power is QRP - 10W ( 20 x 0.5W ) but actually I was able to =
use it at 100W for 30 seconds without a problem (the placement of the =
resistors helps for good airflow and cooling).

Hope this helps!
