Actually, it sounds like a good idea.
For people who are uncertain whether they can build
a K1 or K2, we are always recommending they build something simple first,
to get the soldering practice, and the idea of following directions.
In this case, they have something very useful when they are done.
I think it should be built with a captive male BNC connector, so can
go right on the K1 or K2.  An adapter can be used to mate to other gear
with a female UHF connector.
