Allow a bit of clarification to my previous post claiming some AGC 
"pumping" with the DSP.  This is not quite correct.  What I am noticing is 
a sharp return to the background noise on key-up (along, at times, with a 
very light sharp click).  When the DSP is on standby, the return to rx 
audio after key-up is a much smoother transition, not as abrupt.  The 
effect is worst with filter 1, and less noticeable with the tighter 
filters, presumably because the background noise to which the sound is 
returning is considerably less.  This is all at the default parameters. I 
haven't begun experimenting with the parameters as yet due to lack of time, 
but I surely will.  That's why I was interested in knowing what others 
found about the effects of the parameters.
