May I offer a humble suggestion?
I've had a schedule with a good friend for over 20 years & a good part of
that time his signal has been very difficult to receive. Our Solution?
Do it after the contests end.
This generally means after 0000Z on Sunday evenings, 5PM Pacific time. You
would be amazed at the difference it makes!
2nd solution: Try to pick a QRG in the old Novice bands. Believe me, there
are good frequencies available and there is NO QRM. If you can't schedule
after 0000Z Sunday, this is your best bet.
We've been running our sked for a LOT of years.
Just a tip.
