Okay I'm just digging into the K2/100 and KAT100 from the storm last
night.  The first thing I find shorted out is Q1 on the KAT100...this is
the power on pass transistor for the 5 volt regulator.  So it seems I'm
going to have to go the radio with a fine tooth comb and find all the
blown parts.

Radio receives (however very low rx audio).  Radio transmits, however
the power control works on the basic radio but with the KPA100 attached,
it doesn't matter where you set it when in the high power mode...it goes
full boat (117 watts).  Anyhow I am perfectly capable of troubleshooting
the whole shebang...but I would appreciate any comments that would
shorten the process.  I'm sure in the last few years there have been a
few K2's that got zapped.
