Hi Don,

Yep.... I at first didn't even list the venerable old 7603 (7000 series)
myself for the very reasons you point out.  But I did go back and list them
only because when working they are a great scope.... and very cheap now.
That said one certainly would need a parts unit.  I lost a vertical
ampplifier board on the one I had and had to pick up a parts frame off eBay
for $11 to fix it. Shipping was way more then the purchase <grin>.

Another thing, and this is only my opinion for what it's worth <grin>... is
stay away from analog storage scopes.  Not that useful for general use...
more expensive... and way more to go wrong... especially the weak, short
lived CRT's every  one of these I've ever used seemed to have <grin>.
