You can ask him at the Convention.  He's Al, N6JZ.

I also care about it because it's *extremely* stingy when I have R1 set
so that the AGC does not affect receiver gain on weak signals.  It would
be nice if the S-meter would read at least close to all of the other rigs
on the market.  It's so stingy that it cannot really be used for
comparing changes in signal level.

which takes place at the same time as the Topband Forum.

Are you coming to the Topband Dinner on Friday evening?  37 other DXers
