[Elecraft] K2 bring-up

You don't suppose you are getting RF into the power supply? I have a 3
amp switching power supply for my K2 and there were no problems such as
you describe. You probably are running a 2 amp supply too hard at full
power output, but that wouldn't account for the overload at minimum
power.

Subject: [Elecraft] K2 bring-up
Hi All,
I've just reached the stage of commissioning the TX. (Alignment and
test,
Part III)
Every time I key the TX, the PSU I'm using (14V current limited at 2A)
flashes it's over current LED and the control CPU reboots.
I've checked (most of) the DC levels against the DC voltage tables for
the
RF board and all seem to be in the ballpark. Trouble is, as soon as I
try
'TUNE' or key the transmitter, the thing resets.
I've set o/p power to minimum and limted TX current to well within the
capabilities of the PSU but to no avail.
I suspect I've got a short somewhere and will make a further detailed
visual
inspection shortly. In the meantime, has anybody else had a similar
experience?
Best,
Paul
