Trev and all,

Beware of the ol' un-amplified D-104 - they use a crystal element and must
work into a high impedance load - like 20k ohms or more.  They do have a lot
of output at that impedance level, so it is a good choice for those who want
to buiild a Hi-Z input 600 ohm output unity gain amplifier - there was an
article in QST within the past year describing exactly that amplifier.

BTW - the amplified D-104 will drive the K2 just dandy, or you can do what I
did which was put a Heil element in the D-104 head.
