[Elecraft] defluxing PCB's

I remember reading in the K2 manual about how the PCB should not be =
defluxed due to problems that this can cause. In my construction over =
the years I have not defluxed boards, since I was more concerned that =
the solvent could be hazardous to my health and the thought that since =
flux is only pine rosin it could not be that hazardous to the joints.
I'm currently taking taking an IPC (electronics industry standard) =
soldering course for my work and today in class the instructor stressed =
defluxing boards even when the only flux used is that contained in the =
solder itself (i.e. no external liquid or paste). He taught us the =
correct way utilizing matched chemistry between the flux type and the =
solvent. Do most people deflux their boards? And if so, it is worth it =
to go back and deflux everything I have ever built or just go forward =
with the defluxing from this point (I would have a lot of stuff to go =
back and deflux). I am currently using 60/40 RA solder, but plan on =
switching to 63/37 as soon as I run out of current stock.
Thanks.
