[Elecraft] K2 QRP Top Enclosure

The captions in the article were not very good. That K2 was originally a 
QRP K2. The QRP cover you see in the pictures came off when the KPA-100 
completion kit went in. The two covers can be swapped  back and forth 
with six screws and four connectors. The reviewer (that's me) knows 
nothing about the KAT100 and nothing you saw in the article was built 
into a KAT100 cabinet. I suspect Elecraft can provide front and back 
panels to accomodate the combinations you ask about, but don't take my 
word for it! Not sure why you would want to remote-mount the QRP top, 
though.
