VA7NT continued after K2AV's reply on split operation:

Another scenario where I find it's hard to give up on the MP
(I'm not fond of 7 Mc phone myself, but over here it is nice
to be able to listen for those who can't operate below 7150 kc
at the same time as others who can't operate above 7100 kc
simultaneously when running) was made very clear with the rash
of expeditions recently: figuring where the DX station's real
QSX frequency is, as well as figuring out any pattern to changes
to the DX station's QSX frequency.

To do this with a K2 without being able to listen to the DX
station simultaneously is a challenge, not to mention making one
busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger - as well as improving
the chances for cockpit error (like inadvertently transmitting on
the DX station's frequency instead of the QSX frequency).

Using a second K2 for receive only strikes me being a bit too
"disconnected" compared to the sub-receiver now common in
the offerings from the Big Three (Four, counting Ten-Tec) - even if
we could do something as WK6I suggested (market is too small,
IMHO).

(Suggestion that a future Elecraft product incorporate a sub-rx -
in keeping with the K2's superior performance as a radio,
instead of resorting to the bells & whistles that drive the Big
Three {their domestic market being focused on such stuff}
deleted as being unacceptable to this forum ;^).
