[Elecraft] EUREKA!

Well, I'll be d---D.  It works!  K2 #3209 is alive and well and
bothering the CW denizens on 40 meters. It had its very first QSO a few
minutes ago. W3ZQN/QRP was the unfortunate ham on the other end - -
(that will teach him to call CQ).  The band wasn't all that good but I
got a very good report and we had a nice, half hour chat.

 

It reminded me of my very first novice QSO with my newly built Heath
HW-16.  Sitting there wondering if it would work and trying to get up
the nerve to try.  My CW is now a lot better and the K2 is certainly
more sophisticated than the HW-16.  But there were a lot of parallels!
I had forgotten how addictive building things could be.  Thanks to
Elecraft I now remember.

 

I hope to find many of you on the air one of these days.
