[Elecraft] Problems with K2

I acquired built K2 #740. I already have FT-100 + TS-850, and the 
purpose of K2 is to have light self-contained rig for traveling. The rig 
works fine but I enountered a few problems.

1. KAT2 has limited tuning range. For random-length dipoles that tune 
easy with a T tuner to SWR 1.0, KAT2 tunes on some bands to SWR <1.5:1, 
on some others at around  3 and on some adjacent ones to 6. I checked 
all C and L, and they seem to work. Is this inconsistent matching 
normal? I tried AUTO and ALT.

2. After doing 2nd XTAL mod, the sensitivity with FL2-4 is about 10 db 
lower than with F1. Also, I feel that the CW sensitivity is lower. I 
peaked L34 but the peak was not too sharp. Does the modification 
(inluding removal of 10p), deteriorate CW sensitivity? I used BC337 
instead of PN2222.

3. On CW, after changing from FL3 (.6) to FL4 (.2), the pitch changes. 
Is this normal?

On a positive note, in WAE SBB, almost all stations responded to K2 on 
10-20, and a few did on 40m.
