You never have mentioned how your K2's frequency drift is if the ambient
temperate varies widely like it does in my shack.

My K2 is wild then, but my FT-1000MP with stock ref oscillator (which is
not temperature-controlled) is extremely stable.

This is my biggest complaint about my K2 (which meets Elecraft's <100 Hz
drift specs if the ambient temperature is stable).

There's no way I can use the K2 as originally planned this coming winter
at my desert salt lake portable QTH during the 160-meter contests,
because the temperature there varies from well below freezing to 60F
above.

I can live with the VFO frequency drift, but NOT with the problem of
keeping signals centered in the xtal filter passband on CW when the
temperature changes.
