I don't know the Sony phones, but I have a set of VERY comfortable
Labtec LT-820 phones. They have very nice ear cushions, are very
lightweight and work very well with the K2.

The price is a "whopping" $15 or so. Easy on the pocketbook AND on the
head. I think the current model number is LT-835.

One serious problem with buying phones these days is that most of them
are designed for "hi-fi" or music. They have a frequency response that
far exceeds the maximum range you will ever use even with SSB. That
means that they faithfully reproduce any hiss or thumps that would
normally fall well outside of your normal listening range. Cheaper
"computer" phones like the 820's I have are often far better in that
regard. They still have too wide of a frequency response, but aren't as
bad as true 'hi-fi' phones.

Finally, the moderately high impedance of this type of headset (30 ohms
or so) is a better match for the K2 than low-impedance (4 to 8 ohm)
hi-fi types.

I'm looking for a pair of headphones to use with the K2. *Comfort*,
good
sound and not too expensive are requirements. The Sony MDR-V700DJ
phones
seemed like a good candidate but some of the reviews say that they are
somewhat uncomfortable. On the positive side, they sell for about $37
and
have good specs i.e. good trade-off between quality & cost....
