Yes Jay!.... got it backwards by mixing up  two thoughts. One, the
average level of speech is very low compared to the peak value.
Secondly, the average-to-peak ratio of speech is very HIGH.  Two ways of
saying the same thing if I'd just get it straight!

Hi Ron,

Didn't you mean to say that the human voice has a very HIGH average-
to-peak ratio? If the ratio were low, there would be little difference 
between peak reading and average; I think the opposite was your point.
