Recently down graded to from a K2 to K1. But upgraded my operating pleasure!
K2 is an excellent radio matter of fact the best I've owned! But my favorite
mode of operation is /p. The K1 is the best fit as far as backpacking,
campng or travel rig. IMHO.  But even in the shack it's a hoot. Just amazing
how well it performs. I really don't miss the K2. OK I lost a few bands,
memory and scannig features, one more xtal filter setting, I/O, tranverter
opt., SSB(what's that?), which I never used or intend using anyway. So the
loss is a wash. My gain is size-weight portability and GUI simplicity.

So far my only mod was stick a piece of felt under the main tuning knob per
Rod/N0RC's post. Big difference on killing the wooble and keeping knob from
moving while changing WPM or doing the "two finger tuning up".  I think
previous owner did an AGC mod as it seems to be play just fine for me. I've
had no time to read all the posts/mods/tips etc. but sure do LOVE this rig.
Yes, I love my lil HB Mw rigs too but they all seem to have something that
needs fixing and are never field ready. BUT the K1 is like a puppy sitting
by the door with a leash in it's mouth saying "can we PLEASE go for a walk!
huh? can we?...can we?...pant, pant"    Thanks Elecraft!
