[Elecraft] How loud it is!

    OK the sidetone is easily reproduceable so here are the
measurments of #2748 with a sound level meter A weighting.  The
speaker level varied a lot due to room resonance.  I read one of the
higher positions.

Sidetone level 255, AF gain max.

3' in front of a tilted back on its stand K2 at ear level.     74dba

3' in front of a motorola amplified communications speaker
at my usual volume control setting on the back of the speaker  80dba
Same cranked to max ear protection on.  104dba.

AKG Sudio Monitor phones          K240DF      68dba

Realistic over the ears phones  PRO 25  My usual phones.   81dba


Clearly the K2 won't drive the AKG's.   The K2 alone is on the wimpy
side and the Motorola can be turned up to harmful levels. From my
usual setting on the Motorola I would like about 6dba more level.

Permissable noise level for 8 hour exposure   90 dba , 1 hour 105 dba.
