If you have a desktop computer with a CD Drive why don't you consider direct
connect cable with it and the laptop.  You can use the parallel ports of
both computers? Not the fastest way to transfer but will do in a bind (And
DO NOT use the serial ports! Even slower!).  Good Luck...
