Bill,
All appropriate lines are run to the microphone header - P1. The signal
names on the left are the lines connected to the K2 internal circuits while
the numbered pins on the right correspond to the pins on the microphone
jack.
If you have a microphone that requires audio on pin 1 and PTT on pin 3 (for
example),
you wire the header AF pin to the header pin 1 for the audio and the header
PTT pin to the header pin 3 for the PTT function. Continue with other pins
and functions that are provided on your microphone. As a further example,
if you microphone wants to have voltage on the audio line, you wire a
resistor (check your microphone specs for the value) from the +5 header pin
to the audio input pin for your microphone (pin 1 in the above 'for
example')
