There's no way to make the 'length' of the dashes longer, but you might be 
able to achieve a bit more 'definition' between DITs and DAHs of you go 
into the menu  (if you have firmware version 2.00 or higher) by going into 
the SECONDARY MENU and setting DOT to 0.90 instead of the 1.10 it defaults 
to. This is the 'weight' setting, and many of us prefer to have our 
characters a bit on the 'light' side.

Also, try both emulation modes (A & B) under MENU | IAB. Some prefer mode 
A, while others (like I) swear by mode B.
