[Elecraft] TOOLS

In addition to all of the other stuff, I'd recommend a magnifier lamp
and a small hand held magnifier.

I also used a PanaVise with the large circuit card holder. By the time
you build the K2, KPA100, and other options, you will appreciate the
"third hand." The PanaVise, though, is a matter of personal preference.

Regarding meters, I bought a small Radio Shack DMM 22-802 and it did
most everything I needed, except for the current measurements for the
KPA 100. For that I used an analog multimeter.

And don't forget an anti-static wrist strap!

Last and most important tool is patience! It's real easy to get swept
up in the excitement, stay up too late, and make a big mistake. If
you've been following the reflector for any length of time, you'll know
that there are several of us who have been there, done that, and have
the used de-soldering wick to prove it.

In closing, welecome to the "club." Feel free to drop in with your
success stories and ask for any help you might need, along the way.
