Actually, I usually put in one pad, and one screw (nearer the front panel of
the K2)for the second pad.  Insert the tilt stand, then rotate the one-screw
pad until the other screw hole lines up and insert the screw.

This worked on 2 K2s and an EC2.

But you really do have to squeeze hard!
