[Elecraft] Notch Filter/DSP

Hi

The KAF2 does not have a notch filter. It is a bandpass filter with very =
steep sides. It is designed for CW use but level 1 is somewhat usable on =
SSB. Level 2 is too narrow for SSB. It will not help much with heterodyne=
s within the bandbass on SSB. The Clearspeech should work with the K2 and=
it would just plug into the speaker jack requiring no modifications to t=
he K2. It does a good job on heterodynes and tuner uppers. I don't have o=
ne but I saw one in operation at field day and is worked very well.

Subject: [Elecraft] Notch Filter/DSP

Hi to group,

I had a slight hearing problem after listening to my spkr audio from the =
Elecraft K2.

I got this high pitch noise on top of someone's voice on an HF Frequency.=
I tried using my filters and RF gain backed down to get rid of it. Doe=
sn't work. =20

Is there a way that I can notch my audio, like the feature that other fac=
tory built radios have.

Could Elecraft design a speaker like the ClearSpeech Am-Com with a Notch =
button on the side to filter left and right signals to get just the voice=
?

Or I could just get off of my own seat and do it...

I have no intention to modify my radio unless it is an official mod/chang=
e. But would rather have a plug-in circuit. Does the KAF2 which I do no=
t have, solve these problems?
